Default Best Catalyst/Omega Drivers for Text Quality (Radeon 9800)

This is probably an old question, but I could not find the right answer.

I just got a Radeon 9800, and have been fiddling with drivers. The Omegas
have nice speed, but the text quality is nothing to write home about (I've
been spoiled by the 2d quality of Matrox cards).

What is the best set of drivers for this card that has a good mix of speed
and superior text qualilty?

Thanks in advance.

I have a 9800np and also was concerned about text quality. I'm sticking
with the 3.5 drivers which were the last not to require DX 9. So far, so
good.

Ugh, stay away from those Omega drivers, they screwed my machine up
something awful. I will never trust a driver not made by the
manufacturer again.

Hmm ;-) When my 3.7 by ATI didnt work too well (crashes in OGL) I decided to
go for the OMEGA driver, and problem was solved ;-)
