Hibernation problem?
I have a G8-SIN1394XP running W2k (happily for last 18mths) and I tend to
put the machine into hibernation rather than standby because the fans switch off as well. Last couple of weeks, when I go to reboot out of hibernation, the machine POST's and hangs right before the memory amount is displayed in POST, other details like keyboard etc. aren' displayed, it's as if it just halts. On the 'reset' button, it works out fine though. Is this a indication of worse things to come or just a benign glitch? The BIOS and W2k SP's are uptodate. |

Check to make sure you have adequate free space on your hard drive and that
it isn't badly fragmented. "Saint" wrote in message ... Space isn't much of problem from what I see (22% or there abouts).

Only time I've had problems with hibernate or standby have always been due
to drivers - you changed any in the last couple of weeks? BTW I use S3 save to ram, it's much quicker than hibernate (save to disk) Drivers in the past that prevented PC from waking properly we Hauppage WDM driver for PCI-TV card Surround-sound sound card drivers "Saint" wrote in message ...
