Default Palit's 9600GT w/1GB DDR3 700MHz/2.0GHz

http://www.palit.biz/main/vgapro.php?id=645

Measurably close in performance to an 8800GT, cheaper and currently
available.

Perfect for Oblivion and mega-texture modders of any game, 512M just
doesn't cut it anymore in Oblivion with QTP3, perfect for games with
very high FSAA settings at moderate to high resolution with or without
HDR...both very demanding on RAM space.

Also games that prerender frames and stick them in local memory will
benefit, probably OpenGL titles mostly.

Palit also makes a 8800GTS G92 1G for those who need that extra ooomph
along with the extra texture space, such as flight simmers and people
using Oblivion at 1600x1200 and above.

Palit also makes a 1G 8800GT, but the performance of the 1G 9600GT
obsoletes the 8800GT. I'm not pimping Palit, I'm just glad to see 1G on
all the top models at the same pricing as lesser equipped models.

Palit seems to be making a move into US markets.A good card for those
playing high resolutions.
There is a review of the 8800 gts G92 1gb at http://www.legitreviews.com/article/683/1/

Isn't that an option of the video card? You can select how many frames
to render ahead on Nvidia cards.

Yes, all cards can pre-render, the fact that it can pre-render is not
the salient point in the original text, the point is in games and
configurations with large frame buffer requirements, with a 1G local
memory space you have more situations where pre-rendering is useful.

If you have available local video memory, use it by any means possible,
it is fast.
