Default GeForce 6200 : screen refresh flicker, why and how to stop this?? help

My GeForce 6200 [pny 64bit 128mb version] has started to cause the
monitor to cause some kind of refresh/flicker problem. It's like the
screen is being refreshed as appears when you refresh a screen. Except
this happens without my doing anything.

I have upgraded and downgraded drivers several times and it doesn't
change.

please, if someone could offer a suggestion or fix would be
appreciated.

ps buying a new[er] card at this time is not an option for me.

thanks a bunch folks.

A better description of the appearance of the screen might help.
Have you tried another, known good monitor?
Or tried your display adapter on another, known good system?
Then, of course a bit of information on your mother board, CPU, and
operating system might get you more useful help.

That's abit of help, but not much.

And have you tried the two diagnostic suggestion, and, if so, what were the
results.
Also, if you could

describe the screen appearance better

describe and name the monitor type, monitor, model, age, and
specifications (resolutions and refresh rates)

give the refresh rate setting and resolution setting.

Also what is a asus a7n8x? Are you asking us to look up the specifications
of whatever board that is?

Otherwise you are just asking for guesses.
