Default incompatible hardware

I want to upgrade my computer in 2 step(1. new processor, 2. new
motherboard) and i dont know if it is a good idea!! I have a MB asus
with VIA KT266A chipset and an athlon xp 2000+ !! I want to upgrade
first my processor to an athlon xp 3200+, but the FSB speed are
incompatible! I want to know how the performnance will be affected?

Check your ram speed is acceptable with new motherboard and processor.
