Default toner refilling - do it yourself

Bud --

Thanks for the experience and name of Southwestern Laser.

I have a HP LJ 1300. SWL doesn't list either the small or large cartridge
for that one.

I echo Ken's question about how and where to cut the hole to empty the waste
bin, and where to buy the plug.

Can you buy just the plug screw for the waste bin? The RechargX includes
one for the hole drilled for loading the toner.

I have used RechargeX supplies with good results. Their Drill & Plug kit

is
neat and inexpensive. Another company I buy from is Southwestern Laser.

Refilling is a simple way to save at least 80% on toner. One thing I have
found is after about three to five refills you start getting fuzzy black
over the whole page. This is because the overflow section is full and the
excess toner is not being cleaned off. After getting tear down info from
Southwestern Laser and taking one cartridge apart and emptying the

overflow
tank I was back to normal. Now that I know where the overflow tank is I

have
drilled and plugged it and empty it every other time I refill. I am still
using the original cartridge from two years back with satisfactory

printing
results.

Have people had good experience refilling toner cartridges themselves?

Can you recommend suppliers?

I have read about the ReChargX brand, at
http://www.tonerrefillkits.com/

and the concept looks appealing.

Thanks for any information.
