Default Scratch & Dent

Anyone ever by scratch and dent from the outlet store. I have bought a
couple of laptops from the outlet store and have been happy with them,
but they were not scratch and dent.

I am looking at Quad-core xps-410's in particular.

Thanks,
Mike

The XPS 410 that I bought "scratch and dent" didn't have any scratches
or dents that I could find. It was as good as new.

I'm sure they'd be fine functionally. Cosmetically I'd read the
descriptions carefully on the outlet website (at the top describing the 3-4
different types of systems) to be sure I wasn't surprised.

I think their "scratch and dent" listings allow for scratches and other
non-function type damages.

P.S. -- I have heard of others ordering a scratch and dent and not
being able to find any, however if you buy in that category it's a
possibility of course but I don't think Dell would sell anything
through there that would have any _major_ cosmetic defects.

Do the "scratch and dents" include scratches on the screens of laptops?
Who cares if there is a scratch on the outside if the screen is scratch
free.

I think it's safe to say no, that Dell wouldn't sell a laptop with a
scratch on the screen itself.

That would be a functional issue, so I'm guessing that's a big "no".

I have 3 dell desktops and and 3 dell laptops. Actually though, I have

have to wait for a good coupon sale.

Thanks,

I've bought several computers from Dell's Outlet store (IIRC 4
altogether), including an XPS410 earlier this year. I don't know if Dell
considered any "scratch & dent", but they were all perfect as far as I
could see (meaning the computer itself). The only item which didn't
appear factory new was the VGA cord that came with my XPS410.

Sweet!

FWIW, I wouldn't worry about buying any category of computer from the
Outlet Store, YMMV.
