Canon S9000 status monitor not working with print server?
Hi,
Several questions here. First, the Canon status monitor (ink status...) does not work with my Hawkingtech PS12U print server and it is confirmed from the manufacture's service guy. Is there any other print server on the market will do the whatever features available from the printer even itis connected through USB print server? Or it is a lwell known limit? Second, I just replaced the ink cartridge of the printer and it costs me $60 for all six ink. Also I noticed there are some places selling "compatible" cartridge at much lower prices. Is it OK to use those after market products? I believe most of the cartridge cost are on the case itself instead of the ink inside. If ink were filled the manufacture's case, theoretically it should work as good as original. Am I wrong on this assumption? Any way I can "save" on future ink purchase. What can I save and what should I not save? Any new printer on the market will do a lot of printing without such pricy ink supply? My HP color lasejet lasts more than 10 times vs the inkjet...except that it does not print photo as good. I don't mind to put much more investment on a printer as long as it is "reasonable" for future supply. Thanks you so much for sharing info. |
