Default Compaq 5000 memory

Anyone know if the Compaq 5000 supports 256mb DIMMS?

I have four fitted*, but the system only shows 256mb total. With anymore
DIMMS fitted, Netware 4 abends (although it works fine with the other
DIMMS on their own)

According to the dox, it takes 2gb in 128mb DIMMS.

*Allegedly these are 256MB Dimms. They may of course be 64mb each as part
of a 256mb pack... would anyone here recognise the part number, as compaqs
website doesn't.

Yes, post the S/P number and I can tell you its size.

I presume you are talking about a Proliant 5000 ...

Thanks LC

Ah well, with 4 CPU and 640MB of RAM, I think it might just run Linux. It
runs Netware 4.11 a charm :-)
