small server with IDE RAID
I have use the Abit NF7-S board for other uses and I noticed it has onboard
SIL3112A SATA RAID. I am building a server (file and print server for with small department database) using Windows 2003 and would like to do disk mirroring. I can't find much about actual performance or issues using the board for that purpose. How does it compare to say a Promise add in card or another board with onboard RAID? |

"Alex" wrote in message ... So you want SATA or IDE RAID? Either is OK. If I used the NF7-S motherboard the onboard RAID is SATA only. I am just looking at what gives the best value/performance. |
