FM2-A85XA-G43 Motherboard Help Please

I have a MSI FM2-A85XA-G43 Motherboard. I have three bootable hard
drives SATA-connected. I want to change the boot order in the BIOS,
but I can't find a way to do it that takes and retains the order
permanently. Anyone have experience with this board and can help me
do it?

pictures of the boot devices into the order you want then save & exit. What
are the actual problems you are encountering? Are any other BIOS settings
'sticking' after they are changed and is the internal clock working when
the system is unplugged. If not then you may have a bad CMOS battery.

The copy of the manual I have here, the

Boot Device Priority Bar

has some hot keys listed. Pressing F10

Save Change and Reset

would seem to be similar to "Save and Exit"
on a Legacy BIOS. And you must be doing something
like that, as otherwise you'd never be able
to get out of the BIOS :-)

The manual looks like the "MSI Settings"
has "Save and Exit" menu as a page. And
"Save" and "Save and Exit" are options there.

Sometimes, a setting loss occurs, if the BIOS
crashes at startup, and the BIOS is using
some defaults to get the board running again.
Such might happen if you overclock. Saving
your overclock settings in a Profile, makes
it easier to clean up the mess (lost settings)
later.

The Profile management on my latest
motherboard is dreadful, you can't tell
what is going on, and I've given up on
the Profile saving/loading option. I just run
the machine from a single profile and
hope for the best (that settings
won't get lost).

Yes, I agree - the manual does seem pretty clear on this. I can and
have dragged the boot order icons at top of the BIOS Settings window
to get the order I want, And I do see and have selected 'save and
exit' or something close to that, but the order is never changed.
I never thought about the battery. I should try changing that.
I guess another thing I could try is to disconnect all the SATA
connectors to all the bootable hard drives, and then reconnect each,
one at a time, booting up each time. I'll bet when I get done, the
drives will be in the boot order I want.

I did that and it worked. So I'll just leave it at that. No idea why
I couldn't save the changed BIOS settings.
