You can always arrange a fan to blow on it. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128337 The Intel push-pin concept leaves a bit to be desired. Some people have to try several times, to get a good install. As long as the CPU stays below the throttle temperature, that ensures you get the performance from your purchase. Your CPU really cannot afford to get too much hotter than it already is (assuming the temp reading is accurate). Intel has an install movie, on the push pins and LGA775. If you need a movie, to test your new system with :-) http://cache-www.intel.com/cd/00/00/...209_241209.wmv Paul |

Hi,
Buy a silent / low speed 3cm chipset fan. Screw it on top of Nbridge heatsink. Connect fan to 12V. If still too loud, cut off fan connector. Connect (+/red) to 12V and (-/black) to 5V. (= 7V). i have installed several of these goofy heatsink/fan for the processor -
have to admit this one was more of a challenge , but all are seated and the black pins are protruding thru the mobo for a good lock , still don't know safe temp , tried looking up etc. as for the Nbridge i may put a little old socket seven fan on there someway , and as for the processor i really don't want to spend more money to cool , wonder why intel ships an inadequeate cooling setup(yes i used thermal paste) , well paul i quess some people are never satisfied:-) "John7" wrote in message ... The diode temperature might be higher than that. So your temperature is getting up there.
