Default ethernet printer-computer connection

When I connect a printer (for example HP all-in-one) directly to a
computer
with an ethernet cable, do I need a direct cable or a crossover ethernet
cable?

If you are connecting directly (ie without a hub/switch/router) you would
need a crossover cable.
