Default need advice on data recovery service company

I have a maxtor 40 gb hd that crashed.

bios won't recognize it and it makes and continuos clacking when power is applied.

Any suggestions for a good company doing data recovery service?

Anything I can try by myself?

Thanks in advance

If the data is important then I strongly advise against trying
anything by yourself. Don't even power it up. Chances are you
will just do more damage and make data recovery more expensive.

For data recovery companies, Maxtor says on their web-page:

Yahoo at:
http://search.yahoo.com/bin/search?p=data+recovery

Google at:
http://www.google.com/search?q=data+recovery

MSN at:
http://search.msn.com/results.asp?q=data+recovery

Alta Vista at:
http://www.altavista.com/web/results?q=data+recovery

-OR - in your local phone book.

I suggest you try that.

Arno
