Default Issue with installing Brother DCP 8065 to a Thinkpad lap top Help please...

I have a Thinkpad t40p and just bought a Brother DCP-8065DN printer. When I
plug the printer in to the USB port (either port), (after installing the
drivers as per manufacture) I get a little error bubble that says "usb
device not recognized". I have NOT been able to get this to clear up. I have
attched other devices and most of them work fine. One other device I have
problems with is a radio shack USB2 powered hub.

Steps I have tried to fix this:
Boot up in safe mode - results - Software requirres full mode
Updated BIOS
Tried forcing the drivers in the "unknown device" under USB, would not allow
this
removed USB stack from device manager

Most of the device seem to work fine, but some do give me this error.

What else can I do?

Please help!

Thanks
Bruce

I note that you have a powered hub that does not work correctly. Some PC's
especially laptops seem to have difficulty with some USB devices. This is, I
believe, is to do with the current capacity of the laptops USB port. The
workaround is often to use a powered hub. It may be worth your while to get a
powered hub that does work with the laptop (ask the supplier) and then try
installing the printer on the hub. I have had occasional difficulty getting a
powered hub to work on a particular PC and have usually fixed this with a
different hub manufacturer.
Sorry, I have no other thoughts to offer.

One other thing I have found that "helps" (at least it gets recognized) is
if I disable the Intel(R) 82801DB/DBM USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller -
24CD, the device gets recognized, but still does not work.
