Default 4 pin connector on AMD ?????

Hi !

Maybe somebody can give me a difinitive answer, what is the purpose of a P4
2x2 4pin connector on an AMD A8N-SLI Premium mainboard ?

Normally this 4pin +12V connector supplies power signals to the processor
regulator, is this the case with AMD as well ?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

B.
