scanner for mid format film/slides
I'm looking for a reasonable priced scanner that can handle med-format,
2.25", mounted slides. Was looking at an Epson 4490 as it can handle med format but only mentions 2.25" film. I'm wondering how/if it can handle mounted 2.25" transparencies even if I have to place the slides manually? TIA Mickey --- news://freenews.netfront.net/ - complaints: --- |

If you mounts are designed so that they suspend the film about 1 mm off the
glass when placed down on to th glass, you can cut your own mask for the slides with the same outer shape as the other film holders (include the calibration notch!). The film has to be about 1 mm off the glass and flat. After finding and reading a comment from one owner and what he had to go through to scan med-format slides, I decided the bite the bullet and purchase this scanner. Will have to make my own template to position the slides and likely one at a time. Only buying a new scanner because of the med-format capabilities. Have a library of these slides from about 30-50 yrs ago I want to get digitized. Mickey --- news://freenews.netfront.net/ - complaints: --- |
