Refresh rates and video cards.
Hopefully someone can help
I have a cheap ECS AG315P [SiS chipset] 64mb video card. My monitor is a 19 inch Viewsonic P95f+. When I use a refresh rate higher than 60hertz [at 1024x768] I notice text quality in certain areas becomes somewhat blurry. The higher the refresh rate, the worse the problem gets. The area affected is mainly on the upper left side of the monitor. I've searched Google and found a few reviews of the Viewsonic P95f+ monitor mention similar problems. I couldn't locate much info on the video card. Since the text appears clearer at lower refresh rates I'm wondering if upgrading to a better video card would solve this problem. I don't want to spend the $$$ on a new video card and still have the problem. If a new vidcard fixes the problem then I wouldn't hesitate to replace it. |

new video cards have better text and 2d than others and are able to do higher refresh rates than 60hz at those screen sizes. but you
said that similar posts in other groups have talked about the same problems..so if a guarantee is what your looking for then taking the monitor to a different machine(if possible) could get you closer to a conclusion. You tend to get what you pay for. I'd invest in a name brand higher quality
card. -- DaveW "iplom®" wrote in message ... Hopefully someone can help I have a cheap ECS AG315P [SiS chipset] 64mb video card. My monitor is a 19 inch Viewsonic P95f+.
