Default Memory QVL



As I am watching the prices drop, I'm seriously considering a
purchase of an Asus P5GD1 mainboard with a P4 3.0G 530J 800MHz FSB.



According to the Asus site, the memory requirement for the P5GD1 is
Dual-Channel DDR400. Upon browsing some other mainboards on the site,
like the P5GD2 Deluxe, you can find a Memory QVL link. The P5GD1 does
not have a Memory QVL link and I cannot find any reference to one on
the Asus site.



My question is, in the absence of a Memory QVL link for the P5GD1,
does this mean the P5GD1 will handle any type of Dual-Channel DDR400
memory? My concern stems from a previous purchase of a P4G8X, which
I'm using right now, that would only power up with the exact memory
on the QVL list. I want to avoid pulling my hair out over another
conflict like that.



The memory I'm considering is Kingston 1G (2x512) PC3200
KVR400X64C3AK2/1G. It's not that I'm loyal to Kingston, never used it
before. I found what seemed to be a compatibility recommendation for
the P5GD1 at the Kingston site.
