Default AP2400R-T and Linux

I recently purchased a couple of Asus AP2400R-T 2U Servers (with the
TR-DLSR motherboards) to run in a lights-out remote datacenter.

The Asus web pages said they supported Linux... errr yeah well; if the Linux
you want to run is 17 months old then I guess that's true.

The ASMA driver (for monitoring the server temps, fans, PSU's etc) was built
for Linux 2.4.2 and won't load under the current versions (2.4.2[0,1]) (an
insmod -f fails with the message "asma_smp.o: unresolved symbol
__io_virt_debug_Rsmp_2fd62b99")

Is anyone using an AP2400R-T server with a current(ish) version of Linux? If
so did you get a newer copy of the ASMA server monitoring stuff from
somewhere? If not how do you monitor things like the PSU's (on my boxes if
you pull a PSU there's no beeping or lights on the front panel and no way
of seeing that a PSU's gone via software).

I've tried asking my supplier but they can't spell Linux :-( I've tried
emailing ASUS but no reply :-( I've searched the ASUS web pages but there's
nothing to help there :-(

Shame really - I've used ASUS stuff for years and been happy but it looks
like I've been well stuffed this time :-(

Thanks in advance for any help.
