Lost NTFS partition information...
I was trying to set up a dual boot after a crash and Win98 wiped out the
partition info for my NTFS storage drives. I used some program off the net, I don't remember it's name..just that it easily found all my files and wanted me to pay 99 dollars to use the program and 5 bux per gig to fix the issue. That's no good. Can someone steer me in the right direction? All the files are still on the drives, but they have lost the NTFS file structure files...whatever they are called. Thanks in advance. |

Depending on what the problem is, you may find that booting into the recovery console with the XP CD (assuming you were using Windows XP) and running chkdsk. I had a problem last year where the ntfs mft was corrupted, and rebooting into the recovery console and running chkdsk fixed the problem. http://www.pcbuyerbeware.co.uk/RecoveringXP.htm#console http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=307654 If you are still having troubles, post a reply. Hope this helps a little. Dazz |
