Download the driver from the AMD website.
Set minimum power usage in display properties.
AMD also has a utility to show Cool and Quiet in action.

Yes, you need the drivers disc that come with the motherboard too. What you
need is there.

the NSAs Internet database storage program know as they typed on their
keyboard faster than a monkey on crack the following:

As 'Andy' said in the other post, you have to go and adjust power settings
on the PC and set it to 'minimum'.

Had it once working, but from one over the other day it stopped. Power
scheme is on minimal, installed the drivers, enabled in the bios etc.. Don't
know why, but stopped looking after it 'cause nothing helped.
Some other people have similar problems?

Can imagine OP has the same problem.

Check out:

AMD Power Monitor.

You can use it to set your power savings and thereby noise reductions.

^^^ ROCKS ^^^

AMD AthlonT 64/FX Processor Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003
Version (x86 and x64 exe) 1.3.2.16 from
http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/...1_9706,00.html.

That's the driver. Once installed you need to enable C'n'Q via Control
Panel Power Options select Minimal Power Management. Monitor your CPU
speed via a utility like PC Probe or Everest. If it drops from the default
2.2Ghz to something like 1Ghz when under light or no load then C'n'Q is
working. If it doesn't you may need to check your ACPI settings in your
BIOS (ACPI is usually enabled by default these days).
