Anyone have this feature on the A8N SLI-Premium board working with XP
Pro SP2? I installed it and turned it on in the BIOS but it doesn't
showup anywhere.

Apparently the A8N SLI-Premium manual left out the Windows Power
configuration changes that are necessary for Cool & Quiet. Download the PDF
manual for the A8N-E to get the instructions. I believe the relevant part in
at the end of the manual.

You could also use Google groups the check the archives of this forum to
find the instructions.

The other part of the puzzle is that the AMD CPU driver for Windows XP
must be installed. Then set Windows Power Management to "Minimal
Power Management," as Mark says, and CnQ should be working. You have
to launch the little Asus or AMD applet to get a graphical reporting
of the actual speed and Vcore results.

It's in the A8N-SLI Premium English edition user's manual, version E2128,
pages 5-41 to 5-42. It's downloadable from the ASUS web site.

You also need to install AMD AthlonT 64 Processor Driver for Windows XP and
Windows Server 2003 Version (exe) 1.2.2.2
from

The processor driver 1.2.2.2 is the cool & quiet driver. You must turn on
the cool&quiet in your bios, install the cpu driver and then in control
panel under power option change the power schemes to minimal power
management., and then your set. Good luck

OK, allready thought that there was only one driver.
Done everything but still no CnQ... Don't know what i'm doing wrong. All
i've done is installing XP-pro, With Home everything was ok.
