Inspiron 8500 vs 8600
I notice the prices are not as far apart as before.
The 8500 uses the familiar Pentium 4 Ghz numbers used on P4 other computers 2.2, 2.4, ... The 8600 has a different processor and lists speeds from 1.3 to 1.7ghz. How do these Ghz numbers compare to P4 numbers? What is a reasonable choice? Nan |

The 1.4 GHz P4-8600 I have used, outruns a 2.4 GHz 8500 -- the Pentium-M is
a more efficient processor, that produces less heat and consumes less power. The 8500 is going end of life, if that's an issue - the 8600 is its successor. "Whelan" wrote in message ...
