133 FSB Slot1 P3 on 100 FSB 440GX possible?
The subject asks it all. I have a new VA Linux 1000 with a 82440GX
chipset and two slot 1 slots. eBay tells me among Pentium IIIs, 133 FSB chips are cheaper. I'm just wondering what will happen if anyone else here has tried running 133FSB chips underclocked to 100. I understand the processors core clock will also decrease by the same ratio.. its still cheaper. Or does it fry the whole thing? |

Underclocking a CPU does nothing bad except running it slower.
