nf7 dual channel memory question?
I have 3 modules of memory on my NF7 v2.0 board. 2 of these are PC2100 266
mhz 512 mb modules. I have these in the two slots closest together. In the second channel i have a PC2700 333mhz 512 mb module. When i boot the memory displays as frequency 266 mhz... however there is 1.5gb of memory being Ok'd my question(s) are/is would i be able to host a 266 mhz PC2100 module and a 333 mhz PC2700 module on the channel with 2 slots? Also seen as the primary channel as it would appear (the channel with two slots on it) is checking the ram and noting it as 266 mhz does this mean the second channel will only run at 266 mhz? and finally why has the system decided to say "yep its 266 mhz" when i also have a 333mhz module also.... is it because there are more 266mhz modules than 333 mhz modules or because i have the 266 mhz modules in the primary channel? this raises one final question... if it is due to the fact that both modules are in the primary memory channel then what would be the outcome if i had say a 400 mhz module and a 266 mhz module in both the slots on the primary memory channel? woaaahhh what a load eh! |
