fx 5200 Crashing CM2 & GP4 in 98!

Anyone know of a fix to get around my nvidia 5200 128mb card crashing Colin
Mcrae2 and grand prix4 in win98. The card works fine with them in XP,
however, having an old game port MS Wheel, I need to boot in 98 to get
steering ability (thanks for nothing MS).
CM2 used to work with my Voodoo3 card, last week I updated to a sparkle 5200
and now I cant get the game to work.It fires up and then changes resolution,
at that point it throws me back to the desktop.

Anyone??
