Default Laptop for dvd movies

I want to purchase a cheap laptop for mainly playing dvd movies in the car
on trips, plus we can use it for other things if needed as well. Nothing
spectacular, because I will use my home sustem for most things. Portable dvd
players are outrageously priced with too small a viewing screen for my
liking.

What is the minimum specs that I need to be looking for to basically play a
dvd movie? Thanks for your help.

Any current laptop that comes with a DVD drive in it will be fine.

I would avoid anything with an Intel integrated ("Extreme Graphics")
chipset - the performance will be poor.

Look for a lower-end P4 or Athlon mobile system.

With a notebook, repairs being expensive, also get at least a 3-year
warranty.
