Default Integrated motherborad scam Class Action Lawsuit.

Hi a while ago I bought a motherboard with integrated "1800" chip on
it (and was told over the phone that it is Duron 1800-though this is
not very relevant to the class action suit as others might have just
relied on description). I have recently discovered that the actrual
chip is Duron 1200.

I contacted aria and they told me that they are right and all 1800
means is that it is 18 times faster then Pentium 1800 and is not
perfomance equivalent to Pentium 1800 / Amd 1800 CPUs.

Aria thinks they are above the board as the statement is too vague and
they will argue that it is technically correct, or one of it's
possible meanings is technically correct. Nonetherless there is in my
oppinion a legal avenue that can be exploited to bring a very
successful class action suit indeed.

If anyone else has been burned on this please let me know, as we could
bring a class action suit very inexpensively. Those that were not so
unfortunate as me could post their views on Duron 1.2G being Marketed
as "1800" chip on integrated boards.

If you paid by credit card give them a call, or contact trading standards
with regards false advertising.

So you are planning to sue Aria through the USA court system are you? I
would have thought trading standards might be a better place to start.
Also - look here for legal considerations.

And beyond a partial refund of the price paid for the board, what do
you anticipate you would achieve by this? You would have to show that
you had suffered a loss to obtain any form of damages...

Well, it's not right to fool the customers. Perhaps money is not the
object for him.

This is not the same thing at all. AMD clearly tells you what the XP
notation means. It is not designed to deceive.
