Default Booting from a USB device?

Will my Abit NF7-S motherboard ever be able to boot from a USB device (for
instance a USB Flash drive?)

I was thinking about installing an entire OS onto the flash device, and then
using that as the boot device.

Thanks for the info.

Hi,
You could also use a Compact Flash to IDE adaptor
This sits in an ide slot and acts just like a Hard drive.
I have just looked at these but i think it will be better when they produce
one to fit remotely in a 3.5" Bay, so you can swap the flash memory without
taking the PC case off.
Here`s the link...

Also PCW mag December edition has a hands on article about it.

You could of course just use an Inclose PMD-961 Mobile Dock.

DataBook makes such a device. Its an ISA or PCI card with a 3.5", dual slot
"drive". I have used Nic's, modems, LAN cards, and CompactFlash in it...
they are wonderful. the ISA version was only supported through Win98, but I
have read that the PCI version works in 2000 and XP.

Just thought I would share.

Anyone want to buy the ISA model I have?
