Default memory questions

I am currently getting the parts together to build an athlon 64 winchester
3500 based machine, on an msi Nforce4 motherboard. However I have no idea
what memory to use. I know it should be PC3200, but is there "much"
difference between cheaper brands and more expensive? or between cheaper
memory from the same maker? eg..1gb of corsair(in two sticks) is anything
from £100 to £200.
I am not on a budget here, but would like to know if I am wasting money by
buying £200 of memory.

It will depend on your computer usage and how much is "much". Accounting
for what other components you are considering, increased performance may
come from spending monies elsewhere. The more bang for the buck debate. The
value placed on performance gains is strictly a personal matter. Where one
can justify an expenditure another can not. Good luck in assimilating the
advice that will be afforded and may you be happy with your decision.

Generally speaking you're getting 2-5% performace boost for
the price difference.
