Default Upgrading ASUS - 1ghz 266 memory questions

I haven't kept up with memory technology in quite a long while, and what I
did know, I've forgotten.

I have an ASUS A7V266-E, and it has the potentioal of having 3ghz memory
max. I currently have 512mhz, and I would like to go ahead and max the board
out, but I'm not sure of the different versions. I've notice that some state
they are low density, and others state they are high denstiy.

Here's one version:
1024MB 64X8 Low Density Chip Configuration
CAS Latency (CL 2.5)
Non ECC, Non REGISTERED

Another version is labeled:
1024MB 128X64 High Density DIMM Configuration
CAS Latency (CL 3)
Non ECC, Non REGISTERED

I know that years back there were problems with 512 sticks, but the problems
were resolved(???). Have there been any problems with the 1ghz. Should I
stick with 512 sticks instead?

Thanks.

Look here at Crucial for recommendations. Are you
real sure $750 worth of memory is a good investment?
