Q: Compac Presario 1685 Laptop... need info
Greetings all...
I recently picked up the subject laptop at a garage sale, of course without any documentation or software. Compaq is no help, the laptop is too old. It has 32MB RAM, 3GB HD and a 300MHz K6 processor. I've installed Win98SE and some simple apps. My questions: 1. How do you get into BIOS during bootup to update/check CMOS settings? 2. I wanna increase RAM, but it seems that you need to use an "expansion slot" to add RAM. Any experiences with just replacing the existing RAM module rather than trying to find now-obsolete Compaq specific products? advTHANKSance, Gerry |

Compaq Info is freely available here; try F10 when the
Compaq logo appears. http://search.hp.com/gwuseng/query.h...m+ccen+ccenfor Memory type here; it's just a 128MB PC100. http://h30094.www3.hp.com/memoryconf...=Presario+1685 "Gerry Wolfe" wrote in message ...
