Problem with A-bit V17 and DDR modules

Hi,

I have built a new system and am having a bad time getting BOTH (there
are only two dimm slots) on this board to work. I have replaced the
board once already. Both boards exhibit the same behaviour. It will
only recognize ram in the first slot. If modules are placed in both
the slots the computer either simnply doesn't recognize the second
slot as being populated, or the system will NOT post!!

The first modules I had were 2 Patriot 512mb DDR400mhz modules. The
modules each worked in slot 1, worked in another system.

I then purchased, and still have 2 GEIL 512mb DDR400mhz modules. The
same thing happens.

I then replaced the motherboard. Same Stuff Different Day....

I have the updated BIOS and 4 in 1 drivers.....

ANY SUGGESTIONS????????????????
