Question about Memory In ABIT IT& Max and BD7- Raid
I Presently have 2 sticks of PC2100 of memory total of 1.0 Gig
I just purchased another stick of Spectec 512M PC2700. According to Abit 's manual t2700 will not work( Unless I missed an Update) An email to the company returned to me states that their ram would fit either of these two mobo without any problems. I installed the Spectec 512M with two other 512M hoping to get a total of 1.5 G of memory. I still had 1.0G total at the end. In other words , my system (IT7) did not recognize the added Ram. I changed the Dims in other positions on the board and I got different types of errors , Like , System32/... file is corrupt or missing install your OEM CD. I also got stop errors.. . I tried the module with only 1 Stick and the system recognized the stick correctly. Question : what is the total Ram that can be put on this board. The manual states 2 G but also states that slot 2 and 3 are shared . What do they mean by this? |

Hi
I have an IT7 board. I seem to remember that from the newsgroups a year or so ago (but I may be wrong) that certain slots would accept only single sided ram. HTH Ed "Kristy" wrote in message ... You may use either unbuffered memory, or registered ECC memory, but you may not mix types You may use up to a total of 2GB of memory You may use up to two double-sided (two bank) memory modules, occupying either DIMM1 and DIMM2 or DIMM1 and DIMM3. You may not use double-sided memory in both DIMM2 and DIMM3. You may use double or single sided memory in DIMM1, plus single-sided (one bank) memory in both DIMM2 and DIMM3. ECC memory is fully supported that is just retarded... From : http://www.sudhian.com/showfaqs.cfm?fid=15 -- C e D |
