Default how to find out RAM information ?

pfff, that is difficult ...
I would like to expand RAM for my pc, currently 256 Mb
where to find which RAM I need to buy ? think it is DDR RAM 266 but how to
confirm (of course one option is open the pc and look at it)

There's a good freeware program called CPU-Z that will tell you
everything including the brand - http://www.cpuid.com/
