Laptop screen cleaning
What to use to clean the laptop screen surface? Can I use detergents (for
example anti-electrostatic window cleaner - it works perfectly for my CRT) ? Thanks, Moon. |

That's possibly the *WORST* thing you can use on an LCD. I use warm water on mine - nothing else is necessary. On the rare occasion a sticky fingerprint has found its way there, and water won't shift it, I use water with a few (no more than three) drops of a mild soap solution (Fairy Liquid dish detergent works perfectly). Ordinary window cleaner (e.g. Windex, Windolene or Mr Muscle) contains ammonia which could damage the delicate surface of the LCD. It shouldn't be used on newer CRTs either, as it could potentially damage the anti-static coating. |

They make some anti-static wipes that are suitable for LC screens.... I bought a container @ walmart for about 5$ Works like a charm... -- himeru ----------------------------------------------------------------------- himerus's Profile: http://www.myispforum.com/member.php?u= View this thread: http://www.myispforum.com/showthread.php?t=218 Selected USENET Gateway Access: www.myISPforum.com Powered by myISPfinder 2. |
