Default How to remove the IR filter?

I want to remove the IR filter from an Intel CS330
webcam. Doesn't appear to have a separate filter.
Looks like the purplish coating on the lens does it???
How do I remove the coating without hurting the lens?
Tried sulfuric acid. Didn't touch it.
Any idea what it's made of?
Suggestions?
thanks
mike
