Default Problem with installing HP software.

Hi,

I have a problem with my HP scanner software.
(Scanner: Scanjet 5550c.)

Therefore I removed the scanner software from the hadrware list and
did a clean install.

To my surprise the Multi-Language install program from HP addressed me
in Portugese (Windows-XP on my computer is Dutch).

I remembered that I had installed Portugese (Brazilian) as one of the
three keyboard languages.
I changed that, removed Portugese, rebooted.
But the system informed me that it had refused to change a setting
(having to do with ctfmon.exe) in the registry.

The software continues to address me in Porugese (which I don't speak
unfortunately).

(The install program was downloaded from a Dutch HP site.)

What can I do so that the software 'thinks' it has to address me in
Dutch?

NB
The Intel video driver icon, when clicked, also uses Portugese, so
perhaps it's more of a Windows problem than a HP problem
(??????????????).

Kind regards,

Rob van Albada, Amsterdam.

Start Help and Support.

Search for "To switch languages or keyboards from the taskbar" without the
quotes

Will get instructions for changing language in Windows XP.

Or you can search for Languages. You will get several choices.

Already did that, as explained above.

It did not help.

Or you can search for Languages. You will get several choices.

Not any useful one.

Thanks for your input, but it did not solve the problem.

Kind regards,

Rob.
