Unused video playback features in ATI cards
One of ATI's claim to fame is having the best video processing hardware
built in as standard in their cards - things like Video Immersion 2,3,4..... etc What i'm puzzled about is there doesn't seem to be any video playback software that uses these features - unless I'm missing something the only features that I've seen supported are for motion compensation and IDCT.Even ATI's own fileplayer app doesn't support the funky video processing that ATI cards possess. To my eye the quality of video in fileplayer isn't any better than any of the other generic players that I've looked at recently. It doesn't even support IDCT! Don't ask me how I know this. Can anyone name software that uses most if not all of the ATI's video features? |
