GA-965P-DS3 F13Q BIOS Issue
When I got my E8400 back in January, I updated my GA-965P-DS3 rev 3.3 board
to the F13o BIOS which provided support for the 45nm processors. A few months later, Gigabyte released the F13Q BIOS, which also claimed to support the 45nm processors but gave no other details on changes. After flashing F13Q, I noticed that my CPU fan (Arctic Freezer 7 Pro) was much noisier than before although the CPU temps (per CoreTemp) were about the same. I did not have EIST or C1E enabled on either BIOS. EasyTune showed that the CPU fan was running at about 2450 RPM, near the top of its range. I flashed back to F13o and the CPU fan speed dropped back to 1700 RPM and all was quiet again. The CPU temp stayed the same. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem w/F13Q? Does anyone know what other changes might have been made in F13Q? John |
