ok, i know i`m hitting this NG a bit with some lame ass questions & crap, but heres one thats hopefully worth something... my spec... athlon 1800+ o/c 176x14 (2464mhz) PC2700 768mb cas2-3-3-6 (gonna fiddle with setting a bit more soon) GF4 Ti4200 128mb AGP4x 1x maxtor ATA133 40gb drive CDRW drive DVD drive a7v333 no raid Uless you've just got money running out of your ears, why even upgrade? You've got a nice setup. The most you will gain will be about 3% in performance by rasing the FSB up, and you'll need new PC3200 or PC3500 ram to do that properly. If however you do decide to go ahead and upgrade, make sure the board you get has the nforce2 Ultra 400 chipset, and not the older nforce2 chipset. If you stay with VIA, get the KT600 chipset. Might also consider a SIS 748 board if you can find one with all the changable settings you want, which isn't likely. -- Abit KT7-Raid (KT133) Tbred B core CPU @2400MHz (24x100FSB) http://mysite.verizon.net/res0exft/cpu.html |
