Help with modem/router
Hi,
I have just took delivery of a modem/router...namely a Safecom ASDL 4 port. Could someone help me please with the following questions. It has 4 ports and a USB socket on the back. Please tell me what goes where. I have 2 desktop PC's to network and a laptop so there's 3 computers. Do I connect 1 to the USB and the others to the port sockets ?? (confused !!) There is a software disk which it says I have to install network connectiions...question, do I put this disk in all the PC's and put the software on them all ??. Thanks for any help... Alan |

Router USB to PC USB. PC 1 ethernet to Port 1,PC 2 ethernet to Port 2 etc.
There should be a connection for you phone line(dsl) called WAN(wide area network.) And,if you want each PC to be able to connect you'll need either one PC with the software on all the time or install the software to each one. Could someone help me please with the following questions. It has 4 ports and a USB socket on the back. Please tell me what goes where. The USB port is probably intended for a DSL or cable modem. Connect your PCs to the ethernet ports. All of your PCs must be configured for the network. I don't know if you have to use the software disk. Alan wrote: Hi, I have just took delivery of a modem/router...namely a Safecom ASDL 4 port.
