Default Abit IC7-Max3

Where does the fan that covers the IC chips fit in a case? My Antec seems to
have no other room above the PS2 keyboard and mouse holes....??

The Max3 will fit in most cases because almost all them have a
rectangular opening for the motherboard I/O panel. Each motherboard
comes with it’s own I/O panel. This lets motherboard vendors change
connectors on the back of the motherboard. You can see the I/O panel in
the picture of the Max3 package contents at Abit site just to the left
of the Max3. Also not the lack of serial and printer ports on the board.
That’s the space on the I/O panel used for the fan.

You could say: they made room by not having any parallel or serial
ports and moving the ps2 connectors over.
