GA-K8NF-9, F8 bios
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Motherboa.../BIOS_List.htm
I am hoping this is the first bios update that will cover all nForce4 motherboards. If you have this mobo and flash to F8 can you please report back any differences you notice, date of the bios etc. Importantly can you please report on what version of NVIDIA IDE RAID BIOS ROM is installed, is it 4.84...or higher? Also, can you report on the Silicion Image 3114 bios, see if that got updated. I would also suggest you use the nForce 6.67 drivers, the others don't appear to work. http://www.station-drivers.com/page/nvidia%20nforce.htm |

My 6.66 drivers works flawlessly so i don't think you'll need 6.67 !( I don't install nforce4 ide contrroler driver because it makes problems for me so i use windows ata drivers) If you want to find out something else please let me know ! |

I am hoping this is the first bios update that will cover all nForce4
motherboards. If you have this mobo and flash to F8 can you please report back any differences you notice, date of the bios etc. I tried this as you suggested in response to the problem about CD-ROM not reading when Deskstar HDD also plugged in. It didn't fix it :-) After upgrading from F6 to F8, I did notice a (useful) press F12 for boot menu on startup. Importantly can you please report on what version of NVIDIA IDE RAID BIOS ROM is installed, is it 4.84...or higher? How do I check that? Also, can you report on the Silicion Image 3114 bios, see if that got updated. Ditto... Cheers, Rob. |

I am hoping this is the first bios update that will cover all nForce4
motherboards. If you have this mobo and flash to F8 can you please report back any differences you notice, date of the bios etc. F8 does crash in the BIOS when I select the "Hard disk boot priority" option. It displays the Maxtor and the IT8212 IDE RAID controller but then hangs. That RAID controller is an add-on from my other PC. I'll consider using the motherboard's own IDE RAID controller when I've got the system built. I believe you can't switch from one manufacturers RAID controller to another and keep the RAID set-up. You have to rebuild the RAID array thus loosing all the data. Cheers, Rob. |
