Default about LCD/TFT monitors

Hello all,

How many dead pixels is it reasonable to accept in a new 17" LCD screen
without complaining ? I have one pixel that is ill, not allways dead.

thanks

I appreciate it must be annoying, but whereabout on the screen is it? If its
in the centre or in the main parts of the screen (where we focus most, i.e.,
not on the periphery of the screen), then I would definitely ask for a
refund. I've never seen an "ill" pixel, but if I did, I wouldn't put up with
it for long, because it probably stands out like a sore thumb and now you
probably notice it all the time.

Sometimes that single pixel works fine, but when I first turn on the
monitor that pixel is visible in the lower right corner. It is light
green, then after a few minutes that pixel just works fine - that's
why I say it is ill/sick.

Most manufacturers and resellers have a set ploicy on the
amount/placement of dead/"ill" pixels.
The most common number I've seen is 7, unless it's like c26 said, smack
dab in the middle.
With just 1, and it's in the lower corner, you'll prolly have to live
with it.....
