You probably want the 6800 (or another in the same family). The Quadro 1x00
cards are the same core design as the GeForce FX 5xxx cards, while the 6800
is the generation after and will give you much more flexibility in what you
can do in shaders, which will be important if you're trying to implement
general purpose streaming algorithms.

Plus with the Quadro you are paying a premium for features that are probably
not important to you, such as certification that it will work with CAD
programs etc.


Thanks Wills. Do you know of any manufacturer that produces 6800 ultra's
for PCI Express? I was having trouble getting them for PCI-E. I dont have
AGP on my motherboard. Is the PCI version any good than agp?

I talked to PNY the other day and the only card they could offer me for
PCI-E was Quadro's. I was thinking of going for the FX 1300, but maybe
I should wait till they come out with the 6800s pci-e. Does anyone
know which company I could go with for now?
