Default How to do phone calls, fax and aswering machine with one PC box?

Not exactly hardware, but maybe you guys can give me a clue.

I want to have my XP computer handle phone calls, fax and answering
machine altogether. For that I guess I need a piece of software. The
software should be smart enough to know if it's a phone call or a fax.
If it's a fax, start to receive right away. If it's a phone call, have
it ring 3 or 4 times for picking up, otherwise the answering machine
kicks in and records the message. Is there such a goodie out there?

you need a fax/speakerphone modem to start with, and the software
suite that comes with it, should handle your requests.

I use Supervoice - www.supervoice.com - should work with any modem.

Here's an example of a Conexant based MODEM with headset/handset
connectors:

This is an example of some software that's available, Smith has been
in business for over 10 years. You can download and test it:

Good luck!
