Default PC1066 use in place of PC800?

Can 184-pin PC1066 rimms be used in motherboards based on Intels
D850GB chipset? I know that they are designed for PC600/800 rimms.
But I was wondering if they would allow the PC1066 to run at 400mhz.
I have a friend who has needs expand the memory on a system that is
using the PC800's and has an opportunity to get some PC1066 dirt
cheap. Thanks.
