Changing the HD's letter

Besides Partition Magic. Sure - Settings/Control pAnel/admin tools/Computer management/Disk management. Highlight disk and hit right mouse button - pop up menu says change drive letter. I cant remember though if you can change the C drive. You can't change the drive letter of the system or boot volume using Disk Management :-) Also it warns you changing the letter may make installed programs , not run properly. Also obviously if another drive -a CDROM is drive D: you cant change a HD to D: until you change the CDROM to another drive letter, its taken. CHange it to J or something and then change the HD and then change the CDROM to another letter if all the letters are temporarily taken by another drive. |
